January 9, 1951 ~

by Matt Dial

December 21, 2005

On December 21, 2005 God took one of his angels here on earth to be with him. Diane was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer on September 13, 2005 and fought a long and hard battle against this disease, but despite her mental state to beat it, her body could not keep up with the treatments, and piece by piece she began shutting down.

We are so thankful that her brother and sisters came out to help our family as Diane was receiving treatments, and again before she passed away to say their goodbyes, as well as her nephew Matt, her Aunt Mary and Uncle Bill. I can't say enough what that meant to us to be able to have the time to say goodbye and get some closure. When she finally did pass away on the 21st, it was with Ted and Shannon. they were with her as she said her last words and took her last breathe. She was at peace with her situation and was ready to go to heaven, but could not do so until she knew that everyone would be okay. With their assurance and approval, she took her last breath and passed away at 6:30 AM.

There was a beautiful service for her at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Bally, PA. The funeral service was beautiful.  The church was gorgeous and the mass was very nice as well.  Jen and Sarah did the readings and Shannon gave a great Eulogy in Diane’s behalf.  We were all very impressed with Shannon’s words – they made us laugh and made us cry, but the words were very true.  The sun even peaked through the stain glass windows of the church, as if Diane was smiling as Shannon was talking.

After the mass everyone walked behind the hearse to the place where Diane was laid to rest – it was like a movie.  Diane could not have asked for anything more –
